Although I have chosen to forge my path in academia, creating art remains a way to let off steam, center myself, and examine and engage with the world around me.

When I was 15 I had the chance to take part in a wonderful photography course at my big public high school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. That class inspired me to examine my surroundings through an artistic and critical lens, and prompted me to always have a camera with me wherever I go. Over fifteen years and a few courses and cameras later, I am so thankful to have so many photographs that tell a story of who I am and where I've been.

The first set of images on this site are from my life and travels around the world, and the second are portraits and various projects.

The images from "syncrisis" are documentation of a mixed media exhibit based on diverse historical events and figures from Neukölln, Berlin, created together with Robert Stokowy for the 48 hours Neukölln art festival in 2014 and shown at retramp gallery.

The photos from "ja, ich wohne hier" were part of an exhibition about gentrification and identity, for which i took ten portraits of Neukölln 20-somethings standing in front of their apartment doors. This exhibit was also shown during the 48 hours Neukölln festival in 2013. You can read an interview about that show here, which my project partner, Zara Morris, and I did for the website Art Parasites.

"please reed me" is a portrait blog I created shortly after graduating from Reed College, featuring current and former Reed students, and "Short Notice Podcast" is a radio show that Robert Stokowy and I created to highlight various creative people and their endeavors around Berlin.
